Program Overview
Better World Foundation supports SIDHKOFED—the apex cooperative federation of Jharkhand—in strengthening its three-tier cooperative ecosystem comprising State Federation → District Unions → MPCS/PACS/LAMPS.
The initiative builds institutional capacity through:
- Governance reform and board strengthening
- Standardisation of procurement & grading
- Capacity building of cooperative managers
- Transparent accounting and record-keeping
- Strengthening market linkages for agricultural & MFP produce
- Training on aggregation, value addition, and compliance
- Support for technology adoption and MIS systems
Through these reforms, producer collectives gain higher bargaining power, reduced exploitation, better pricing, and improved access to formal markets.
