Vermi Compost Production by 300 Farmers – Jamui (2020)

Program Overview

To support organic farming and nutrient-rich crop production, Better World Foundation trained 300 farmers in Khaira and Sikandra on vermi compost production. Vermi compost improves soil fertility, increases crop yield, and enhances the nutritional quality of produce.

Farmers were trained in preparing vermi beds, managing organic waste, and integrating compost into their farms. Many have adopted vermi composting as an additional income source by selling surplus compost. This initiative strengthens both soil health and household nutrition through sustainable cultivation.
