Model Village Development Program

Problem Statement

The aim of the program is to create a deep impact and bring about social change in the rural life and economy of the area. BWF’s focus is on bringing all the local stakeholders together and by creating an environment wherein we can all contribute to empower the region.

Our Approach for Solution

As a community based organization Better World Foundation works with corporate social responsibility agencies to help them effectively execute their development programs. For one such initiative BWF has been working with JM Financial Foundation and has taken an intrepid attempt to transform an entire cluster of 20 villages into a set of model villages. The cluster is situated in Sikandra Block of Jamui district in Bihar.

It is being done by empowerment of farmers, women, and children through appropriate education, skilling and market focussed livelihood programs. We have jointly envisioned an increase in income of at least 1000 households by at least 50% by using local resources in compliance with the goal of sustainable and inclusive development. In addition to the socio-economic development, we have also focussed on the religious significance of the area as it is close to the birthplace of Lord Mahavira and its capability of becoming a major tourist hub.
